Valley Sterling Trucks of Cleveland opened its doors in November of 1999. In an effort to establish a separate brand location for the former Ford heavy truck product, which had been sold to Freightliner Corporation in 1998, owners John Drakesmith and Brian O'Donnell opened the Brook Park location as a Sterling standalone heavy truck franchise. In 2001, Freightliner L.L.C. purchased Western Star Corporation, allowing Valley to acquire the Western Star Franchise.
Rolling the clock forward to 2002, Freightliner awarded Valley Sterling the Freightliner franchise for Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks allowing it to better serve its customers! In 2008 Freightliner became Daimler Trucks North America to better feature it's growing portfolio of America's Best Commercial Trucks!.
Since 2001 Valley Truck Centers has been steadily growing. The addition of Freightliner and Western Star Franchises in Monroe, Michigan and Toledo, Mansfield, Monroeville, and Akron, Ohio (under the banner of Great Lakes Truck Centers) as well as Isuzu and Hino in Medina, Ohio and Isuzu in Toledo has made Valley Truck Centers a Market Leader! After 19 years of business, Valley Truck Centers averages in excess of 600 new and pre-owned Daimler Trucks North American products per year along with pre-owned commercial truck of nearly every brand.
